The Story Behind Thistle & Maple Leaf
Hello, I'm Liz Wallace
Born and raised in Aberdeen, Scotland, and now living in Manitoba, Canada, I’ve always found joy in creating with my hands. Thistle & Maple Leaf brings together my Scottish roots, my Canadian home, and my love of creating beautiful handmade knitwear.
Each piece is made by me, stitch by stitch, with comfort, quality and timeless style in mind.

Soft, warm and wonderfully versatile, The Long and Winding Road is a hand-knitted sweater with a little something unexpected around every turn.
Its distinctive asymmetrical design pairs a beautifully simple knit on one side with winding cables and textured stitchwork on the other — a gentle nod to the twists and turns of the road, and perhaps of life itself.
A removable cowl gives you two looks in one. Wear it with the cowl for extra warmth and a cozy, softly draped neckline, or remove it for a simpler, more relaxed look. It’s an easy sweater to dress up or down and one you can reach for through several seasons.
